Here at Country Living, we love our pets. We've been known to scour the internet in search of the best dog gifts for the holidays or even their doggie birthday. And we wouldn't be surprised if our holiday card this year includes a photo of us in matching dog and human pajamas. So when it comes to dog beds, of course we go all out, even if our furry best friends often end up on the sofa next to us.

Sure, you can find a store-bought bed that your pet will likely love. But sometimes there's nothing better than pulling out the sewing machine or even power tools and tackling a DIY project. That way, you're sure to have a bed you and your pup like, and you can even customize it to fit your space and preferences. These super cute—and incredibly inexpensive—DIY dog beds will be beloved by pooches of all shapes and sizes.

Converted TV Console

Remember when TVs were nice furniture pieces? If you've got a retro unit collecting dust in the basement or are lucky enough to find one in a thrift store, you can turn it into a dog bed fit for a king. For a dog who likes his privacy but also wants to be near the family, create a special nook for him inside a family room side table.
